I like to start my Thanksgiving shopping early. When I asked my better half how much oil we needed to fry the Turkey this year he through me for a loop and said we didn’t need any. He announced he was buying an air fryer. Cooking the Turkey has never been my job and it’s not my first choice of meat so I didn’t put up a fight.
A couple of days later the mailman delivered our new Char Broil Big Easy Oil-less Liquid Propane Turkey Fryer. My other half spent about 30 minutes (some assembly required LOL) putting this cooker together and it was ready. Thanksgiving morning it took about 10-15 minutes to come to full temperature, he put the Turkey it in and walked away for 2.5 hours. No basting, no turning, no oil mess, no splatter, no grease popping in the eyes, no splatter on clothes (oil never comes out for me). Just put the Turkey in the basket/cage and come back later and it’s cooked. The Turkey was very moist and evenly cooked, the skin had a nice crunch to it, beautiful presentation and with minimal clean up and much healthier! What a bonus!!. Have you ever cleaned one of those oil fryers? It’s a nightmare!! Oil gets all over the place and it never really gets clean enough for me.
It’s not just for Turkey either, chicken, ribs, roasts any large cut of meat. It does get very hot so I would not recommend having small children around. All it took was a couple of pounds of propane and the bird was perfect. This cooker worked great and I can’t wait to try other things in it.
