If you’re going to adorn yourself with jewels, start with the crown for your head. Since here is where the majority of people glance, you’ll get the most mileage out of your decorations.

Crowns: Although the first individual to wear a crown is unknown, Egyptian pharaohs are well-documented as wearing crowns. A crown was a common component in ancient depictions of gods. Crowns worn by monarchs in Egypt symbolized their connection to the gods. When archaeologists initially began hunting for crowns, they came across some relatively simple forms. The majority of them were plain gold or silver circles adorned with gems. The Egyptians created a vast range of crowns, each with a  unique design.

Circlets: A circlet is a kind of head jewelry known as a diadem. Previously, the base of the coronet or crown was referred to as the “circlet.” Successors wore open crowns with no arches to the throne, resembling the king’s crowns.

History: According to historical documents, wealthy members of society wore them to social occasions throughout the Greek era. A circlet is sometimes referred to as a Stephanos or laurel wreath.

Coronet: In contrast to kings, nobility wears coronets, which are crowns without tiaras. On the other hand, the wreath looks like a crown fit for royalty to most people. The circular headgear, generally made of gold and ornamented with pearls, is adorned with pearls and leaf motifs. In the United Kingdom, the design used to embellish a coronet denotes the wearer’s status. According to the Encyclopedia Britannica, a duke’s coronet contains eight strawberry leaves.

Tiara: The tiara is said to have been designed by Persian rulers. Every perimeter of a tiara has at least one high point. Tiaras come in a range of styles. The bandeau tiara has been a popular option for brides-to-be in recent years. It is often a consistent height across or taper slightly down from a central point. A woman’s hairline is adorned with an open bandeau.

The Russian design known as the “kokoshnik” is one of the most coveted tiaras of all time. It’s a traditional piece of Russian head jewelry worn high on the brow. This design has a broad base that narrows to a point in the top center. Diamond-set bars or a chevron shape are employed in this tapering design. The British royal family likes this kind of tiara. Tiaras have historically been worn as ornamental jewelry by women. To wear them, one must follow the white-tie dress code. They symbolized excellent social standing during the Persian Empire when monarchs wore them.
